Why Do I Need a Crown?

Making your tooth look and feel like new.

When your tooth is damaged due to decay or trauma it may need to be repaired with a dental crown. At Atlanta Place Dentistry in Tulsa, we offer both porcelain and porcelain fused to noble metal crowns. These restorations are natural-looking and very long-lasting.

Crowns can be likened to a cap used to protect a damaged tooth or even replace a missing tooth. Dr. Jelsing is renowned for using modern technology and advanced techniques to provide patients with a quality restoration.

The process of placing a crown takes place over the course of two appointments. To begin, we remove any decay and clean the tooth. Next, your damaged tooth is shaped and we take impressions to send off to our partner lab. While the new crown is being produced, you’ll benefit from a temporary crown to protect your tooth.

Once the crown is ready, Dr. Jelsing makes any final adjustments and then places the crown. It will be fitted using special cement and leaves you with a beautifully restored smile.

I was very afraid of going to the dentist until I went to Dr. Priscila. She and her staff went out of their way to make sure my experience was the best I’ve ever had. I highly recommend Dr. Priscila and Atlanta Place Dentistry.
