Metal-Free Fillings

When your tooth suffers trauma or a cavity it can lose some of its natural structure. Through dental fillings, Dr. Jelsing can restore this structure and return your tooth to full function. Unlike in the past, dental fillings are not only functional but aesthetically pleasing too. At Atlanta Place Dentistry, we use composite tooth-colored fillings, which offer a number of advantages:

  • The white material matches your tooth color
  • No unsightly metal
  • The material bonds to your tooth
  • Contains fluoride to help prevent future decay
  • Durable and long-lasting

Your Tulsa dentist easily places a filling in one visit. She begins by cleaning the tooth and clearing away an excess decay. Dr. Priscila Jelsing then fills the affected area with the composite resin and hardens. The resin is trimmed and polished to fit your smile and bite. Leaving you with a beautiful and long-lasting restoration.

Inlays & Onlays

Occasionally the damage to your tooth is too much for a traditional dental filling to repair. In these cases, Dr. Jelsing uses inlays and onlays. These dental restorations are tooth-colored and custom-made to replace the missing or damaged part of your tooth.

Inlays – used when the inside cusp of your tooth is severely damaged

Onlays – used when multiple cusps or the side of your tooth is affected

Inlays and onlays are applied over the course of two simple and comfortable dental visits. During the first visit, Dr. Jelsing cleans the area and takes an impression of the tooth. She places a temporary restoration and sends the impression to our partner lab for fabrication.

At your second visit (once the new restoration is returned), Dr. Jelsing fits the inlay or onlay and makes any necessary adjustments. Once the ideal fit is achieved, she will bond the restoration into place and your smile is fully restored!

Dental Bridges

Tooth loss is a cause of serious concern at any age. It not only can affect your confidence when smiling but has a real impact on your oral health.

An exceptional tooth replacement option is a dental bridge. Bridges consist of dental crowns on either side of an artificial tooth, i.e., the replacement tooth. The bridge matches your natural teeth so that it blends into your smile for a beautiful finish. However, the real beauty comes as the bridge restores the function of your smile and reinstates harmony in your mouth.

The process begins with Dr. Jelsing preparing the teeth on either side of the missing tooth. She then takes an impression of your teeth and sends this off to the lab where the bridge will be designed. After the bridge is returned, your Tulsa restorative dentist fits the crowns over the prepared teeth and the artificial tooth is held into place. Once the perfect fit has been achieved the crowns are cemented onto your natural teeth to provide support for the bridge.

Bridges can be cared for as you would your natural teeth and will be checked during your regular appointment with Dr. Jelsing.

Dental Crowns

Give your teeth the royal treatment.

We don’t want dentistry to look like dentistry so we provide discreet, natural-looking restoration options. One popular option is a dental crown. Crowns are used where tooth damage is extreme either through trauma or decay. This reliable technique helps restore your tooth’s function and prevent future dental problems.

What Is a Crown?

Crowns are similar to caps that cover over your damaged tooth. They are custom-made at our partner lab and protect your tooth from further damage, while restoring its function and beauty.

Why Crowns?

This restoration is very reliable, predictable, and durable. Made of strong material, a crown can relieve pain and return the full function of your tooth in just a few visits.

How Does It Work?

Dr. Jelsing removes any decay and takes an impression of the affected tooth and sends this off to the lab for creation. When returned the tooth is fitted and then bonded into place.

Amazing experience, professional, clean and very personable! Highly recommend!

Dentures

As we get older, our teeth can begin to fail us, but that doesn’t mean you can’t attain a beautiful smile. With modern dentures from Atlanta Place Dentistry, you can replace your missing teeth in the most comfortable and beautiful way.

Our dentures are made of acrylic and are custom-made to fit your individual smile. The teeth are made of porcelain, which matches the look and feel of your natural teeth, so people will believe you still have your natural smile.

We offer a variety of dentures at our office:

Conventional Dentures – placed after all teeth have been extracted and the tissues (gums) have healed

Immediate Denture – fabricated and inserted immediately after the teeth are extracted, and the tissues are allowed to heal under the denture

Upper Denture – is acrylic, usually flesh colored and covers the palate (roof of the mouth)

Lower Denture – is shaped like a horseshoe to leave room for the tongue

In addition to these full dentures, we also offer partials and dental bridges for those with only a few missing teeth.

Extractions

It is always our aim to save your natural tooth, but occasionally you and Dr. Jelsing may determine that an extraction (removal) is the best course of action. This may be due to severe decay, advanced periodontal disease, to prepare for orthodontics, or a tooth broken beyond repair.

The removal process is both simple and painless. You’ll feel no discomfort during the procedure, and we offer a number of restorative options after. Plus, Dr. Jelsing will discuss how to keep the extraction site clean and healthy until your next check-up (usually seven days later).

Missing a tooth has a large impact on your every day, so we understand finding a replacement solution is a huge priority. One of the most effective and popular restorative treatments is dental implants. Implants are designed to mimic the natural structure of your tooth to promote health and a discreet restoration. Consisting of three components, dental implants are placed into your jawbone and then topped with a custom-made restoration i.e. dental crown.

Dental implants have completely changed our patients’ lives. After the treatment, you can eat your favorite foods, laugh with confidence, and rediscover the joy of a fully functional smile.
